BRITO CAPELO STUDIO
Spatial Clarity.
Located on Brito Capelo Street in Matosinhos, the project transforms a former office into a studio apartment. The intervention adapts a space originally conceived for work to the demands of contemporary domestic life, reorganising the programme and clarifying its spatial structure.
The dwelling is conceived as an open-plan space, integrating kitchen, living and sleeping areas within a continuous floor area of approximately 35 m², complemented by the complete refurbishment of the bathroom. Rather than relying on traditional compartmentalisation, storage, technical infrastructure and service spaces are concentrated within a central volume that organises the apartment and defines different areas of use without compromising the openness of the space.
The material palette is based on herringbone flooring and light oak joinery, creating a bright, calm and functional atmosphere. Rather than adding elements, the intervention sought to remove complexity, allowing the apartment to be defined by the clarity of its organisation, the integration of storage and the enhancement of the space available for living.
