LBS MOBILIÁRIO GUIMARÃES
Inhabiting the Display.
The Lifestyle concept for LBS Mobiliário gave rise to a space conceived as a sequence of elegant, lived-in domestic settings. The programme comprised three distinct environments, living room, dining room and bedroom, in which the furniture is integrated into a convincing image of contemporary living.
Developed in 2011, the project combined this scenographic dimension with the flexibility required to accommodate changing collections and the diversity of the brands represented.
The layout is organised around a central area clad in cement panels, conceived as a lounge and consultation space, around which the different display environments are arranged. The living room and bedroom adopt a deliberately neutral architectural language, allowing the furniture and objects to shape the identity of each setting. Translucent curtains establish permeable boundaries between the different areas while reinforcing the visual continuity of the shop.
The project sought to create an architecture open to appropriation and transformation, a framework capable of accommodating different ways of inhabiting space and allowing the objects to complete the architecture.
