WINE CULTURE CENTER
Climbing vineyard.
The formal concept of the building arises from a careful study of its surroundings near Verona. The lines traced across the landscape by the vineyards climb the building’s façade, integrating it harmoniously with the environment. The old motherhouse regains its former prominence and is transformed into the Wine Hotel, a new facility that bridges wine production and tourism.
The Wine Culture Centre opens its doors to the public and the local community, inviting curious visitors and wine enthusiasts to discover the processes behind wine production. Inside, the large atrium, conceived as an interior square, guides visitors fluidly to all public areas without interfering with the winery’s daily production.
The new storehouses are strategically oriented to the north to ensure optimal conservation, temperature, and humidity conditions. They are visually connected to the exhibition areas through glazed openings fitted with sliding wooden doors, allowing visitors to observe the key stages of Amarone production.
The main challenge was to create an open and transparent architecture where public spaces seamlessly interact with production and administrative areas without compromising the functionality of either.
The Wine Culture Centre offers visitors an intuitive understanding of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar’s operations simply by entering the atrium and moving through the adjacent public areas. For wine enthusiasts, it provides a complete Wine Tourism experience, allowing participation in all stages of production, from harvest to the glass, while enjoying the comfort of staying within the winery.
