[EN] My empathy with the Douro Valley is weird. It's an old thing. I remember, when I was a child, some trips with my parents and, even then, I already felt that the land owned me. It was as if each landscape element spoke close to me. On any terrace, any cypress or white cluster, that rises here and there, everything seems so familiar, as if the earth and the voice that I hear inside my head talked the same language.
[PT] É estranha a minha empatia com o Douro. É uma coisa antiga. Lembro-me de em criança fazer passeios com os meus pais e já nessa altura sentir essa terra como minha. É como se cada elemento me falasse intimamente. Em cada socalco, em cada cipreste, em cada aglomerado branco que se ergue aqui ou ali, tudo parece tão familiar, como se a terra e a voz que escuto dentro minha cabeça falassem o mesmo idioma.
